Governor Brian Sandoval today announced he has appointed Emil “B.J.” Almberg of Ely, Nevada to the Nevada Department of Transportation Board of Directors, effective September 25, 2015. Almberg will represent District Three for a term ending June 30, 2019. He will replace Tom Fransway of Winnemucca who served on the board for eight years.

“B.J. has worked on several highway and construction projects throughout Nevada and I am confident that his experience will provide a thoughtful and pragmatic voice on the Department of Transportation Board of Directors,” said Governor Brian Sandoval. “Nevada is growing once again and it is critical that we continue to plan and prepare for the infrastructure demands that accompany a rapid increase in population and economic diversification. Thoughtful and smart planning will help ensure smooth commutes for all Nevadans and the millions of visitors who travel to our state annually.”

“I would like to thank Governor Sandoval for selecting me to serve alongside Nevada’s top experts in transportation management and planning,” said B.J. Almberg. “I am eager to begin serving in this new role and look forward to the new and unique challenges ahead.”
