First Lady Kathleen Sandoval is encouraging all Nevadans to join the American Heart Association’s national Wear Red Day tomorrow, Friday February 6th. The Go Red For Women campaign was designed to raise awareness about women and heart disease.

“Heart disease is the number one cause of death among women, a startling statistic that should concern all Nevadans. Raising awareness about the causes and prevention methods associated with heart disease is a critical public health issue, and one that very closely aligns with other public health initiatives that are ongoing across our state,” said First Lady Kathleen Sandoval. “I would like to send a special thank you to all the dedicated professionals and community leaders who have made significant strides in educating women about heart disease and healthy lifestyle choices. Together, we can create a healthier Nevada.”
