Governor Brian Sandoval today announced that Chris Nielsen will join his personal staff as Deputy Chief of Staff beginning Friday, November 21st.

Chris Nielsen currently serves in the Sandoval Administration as the Executive Director of the Department of Taxation. Nielsen has a broad base of experience having served in a past Administration as the General Counsel and Senior Deputy Attorney General prior to his service at Taxation.

“I am grateful that Chris is willing to bring his experience and expertise into this expanded role within my Administration. Chris is fluent in the legislative process, and I am confident he will be a strong addition as we head into the upcoming session. He is a dedicated public servant and I am pleased he has agreed to serve the state in this capacity,” said Governor Brian Sandoval.

Sandoval also announced that Jackie Bryant, who currently serves as his Deputy Chief of Staff, is leaving the office for a new opportunity with the Washoe County District Court.

“Jackie has been a strong leader and an advocate for all Nevadans throughout her tenure in my Administration. Her compassion and determination will be greatly missed by both me and my entire Cabinet. She served as a top advisor and I will miss her counsel. I wish her well as she continues her career of public service with the Washoe County District Court,” concluded Sandoval.
