Sandoval Announces Cage to Join Office

CARSON CITY, NV – Governor Brian Sandoval today announced that Caleb Cage will join the Governor’s Office as Director of Military and Veterans Policy.

“Caleb has done an exceptional job in leading the way to develop the Green Zone Initiative to help veterans reacclimate to civilian life,” Governor Brian Sandoval said. “A veteran himself, Caleb brings a unique perspective and a strong commitment to helping our state’s men and women understand and receive the benefits they deserve. I am pleased that Caleb has agreed to join my office and serve his fellow Nevadans in this capacity.”

Sandoval also announced he has appointed Colonel (US Army, Retired) Katherine Miller as Director of the Office of Veterans Services, and Ms. Willette Gerald (US Air Force, Retired) as Deputy Director of the Office of Veterans Services.

Miller, who served 34 years in the United States Army, has been serving as Deputy Executive Director of NOVS. Starting as an enlisted soldier, Miller culminated her military service with assignments as a military police brigade commander serving in the United States and in Afghanistan; and as the Commander of the Department of Defense’s largest correctional organization. After retiring she taught college at the University of Maryland and the University of Nevada, Reno. Miller’s education includes a Master’s of Science Degree from the U.S. Army War College and a Master’s of Public Administration from Roosevelt University in Chicago.

Ms. Gerald is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served proudly as a noncommissioned officer from 1975-1995. She was raised in Montgomery, Alabama and upon graduation joined the U.S. Air Force. Ms. Gerald performed duties as an Air Force Superintendent of Personnel and was stationed in several countries, to include Okinawa, Japan; Osan Air Force Base, Korea; Air Base Greenland; and numerous stateside locations. Ms. Gerald holds a Bachelor’s degree in Management with an emphasis in Human Resources from Webster University, St. Louis, Missouri and an Associate’s Degree in Personnel Administration from the Community College of the Air Force.
