CARSON CITY, NV – The Nevada State Board of Education has scheduled interviews for the four semi-finalists who have been chosen in the search for Nevada’s new superintendent of public instruction. The State Board will interview the candidates at a public meeting on July 25 and after interviewing all candidates, the Board will recommend three finalists to Governor Sandoval.
The four semi-finalists the board will interview are as follows:
- Rene Cantu Jr., PhD
- Dale A.R. Erquiaga, MS
- Rorie Fitzpatrick, MEd
- Michael Sentance, LLM, JD
The meeting begins at 9 am on the 25th. Interviews will take place in the Board Room of the Department of Education at 9890 South Maryland Parkway in Las Vegas, and will be video conferenced to the Board Room of the Department of Education at 700 East Fifth Street in Carson City.
To be qualified for the position of state superintendent, an individual must have attained the age of 21 years at the time of his or her appointment and possess the knowledge and ability to carry out the duties required by all Nevada statutes and regulations governing K-12 public education.
