EXECUTIVE ORDER 2018-10 

Ordering Flags to Half Staff

WHEREAS, the people of Nevada owe a debt of gratitude to the men and women who serve as law enforcement officers in our state and throughout the nation, who risk their lives for the continued peace, safety, and security of our society;
WHEREAS, the Nevada Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony, honoring Nevada peace officers who have been killed in the line of duty, will be held Thursday, May 3, 2018; and
WHEREAS, Article 5, Section 1 of the Nevada Constitution provides: "The supreme executive power of this State, shall be vested in a Chief Magistrate who shall be Governor of the State of Nevada."
WHEREAS, by the authority vested in me as Governor by the Constitution and laws of the State of Nevada and the United States, it is hereby ordered as follows:
NOW, THEREFORE, by the authority vested in me as Governor by the Constitution and laws of the State of Nevada and the United States, it is hereby ordered as follows:

The flags of the United States and the State of Nevada shall be flown at half-staff at the State Capitol and all State public buildings and grounds on Thursday, May 3, 2018, from sunrise to sunset, in honor of all law enforcement officers and to remember those who have been killed in the line of duty in the State of Nevada and throughout the United States.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Great Seal of the State of Nevada to be affixed at the State Capitol in Carson City, this 1st day of  May,, in the year two thousand  eighteen.
