Ordering Flags to Half Staff

WHEREAS, the Reverend Billy Graham was an inspiration to thousands of Americans, a spiritual advisor to many, and demonstrated a deep and abiding love of our great nation;
WHEREAS, Reverend Graham passed away on February 21, 2018, and the sympathies of Nevadans are with his family and loved ones;
WHEREAS, the President of the United States issued a proclamation directing that the flag of the United States be flown at half-staff at the White House, all federal public buildings and grounds, all military posts and naval stations, all federal naval vessels, and throughout the United States and its Territories from sunrise until sunset on March 2, 2018, the day of Reverend Graham's interment; and
WHEREAS, Article 5, Section 1 of the Nevada Constitution provides: "The supreme executive power of this State, shall be vested in a Chief Magistrate who shall be Governor of the State of Nevada."
NOW, THEREFORE, by the authority vested in me as Governor by the Constitution and laws of the State of Nevada and the United States, it is hereby ordered as follows:
The flags of the United States and the State of Nevada shall be flown at half-staff at the State Capitol and all State public buildings and grounds on Friday, March 2, 2018, from sunrise to sunset, as a mark of respect and in remembrance of Reverend Graham.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Great Seal of the State of Nevada to be affixed at the State Capitol in Carson City, this 27th day of  February, in the year two thousand  eighteen.
