EXECUTIVE ORDER 2016-07 

Concluding the Governor's Behavioral Health and Wellness Council

WHEREAS, the Governor's Behavioral Health and Wellness Council was established pursuant to Executive Order 2013-26 issued on December 13, 2013;

WHEREAS, the Council has faithfully performed its mission over the past two years;

WHEREAS, the Council has provided many recommendations on how best to improve behavioral health services in its May 2014 and December 2015 reports to the Office of the Governor;

WHEREAS, the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services will continue to work with the Interim Legislative Committee on Health Care and the Legislative Counsel Bureau to further efforts to improve behavioral health services and to evaluate implementing "a local/regional governance model of administration" and report their findings to the Seventy-Ninth Nevada State Legislature; and

WHEREAS, Article 5, Section 1 of the Nevada Constitution provides: "The supreme executive power of this State, shall be vested in a Chief Magistrate who shall be Governor of the State of Nevada."

NOW, THEREFORE, by the authority vested in me as Governor by the Constitution and laws of the State of Nevada and the United States, it is hereby ordered as follows:
Executive Order 2013-26 is amended to provide that the Governor's Behavioral Health and Wellness Council shall sunset and cease on March 10, 2016.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Great Seal of the State of Nevada to be affixed at the State Capitol in Carson City, this 10th day of  March, in the year two thousand  sixteen.
