State of Nevada Executive Order - Executive Department



WHEREAS, Nancy Davis Reagan served with grace as the First Lady of the United States from 1981 to 1989;
WHEREAS, Mrs. Reagan was the loyal pillar of strength, support, and confidence for one of our nation's greatest presidents, former President of the United States Ronald Reagan;
WHEREAS, Mrs. Reagan passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2016;
WHEREAS, the thoughts and prayers of Nevadans are with the Reagan family, as we remember Mrs. Reagan's life and legacy of service to the United States;
WHEREAS, the President of the United States issued a proclamation this morning directing that the flag of the United States be flown at half-staff at the White House and upon all federal public buildings and grounds, at all military posts and naval stations, and on all naval vessels throughout the United States and its territories, including embassies, consular offices, and other facilities abroad, until sunset on the day of Mrs. Reagan's interment; and
NOW, THEREFORE, by the authority vested in me as Governor by the Constitution and laws of the State of Nevada and the United States, it is hereby ordered as follows:
The flags of the United States and the State of Nevada shall be flown at half-staff at the State Capitol and all State public buildings and grounds immediately until sunset on the day of interment of Mrs. Reagan as a mark of respect and in remembrance of her life and service.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Great Seal of the State of Nevada to be affixed at the State Capitol in Carson City, this 7th day of  March, in the year two thousand  sixteen.
